I was asked to donate an item for a charity auction in Nelson this week, as part of a Breast Cancer Awareness Month event, to raise money for the Nelson Regional Breast Cancer Trust.
I willingly made a pair of The Ribbon Earrings for the Nelson event, and it got me thinking about the amazing job charities like this do in helping patients and their families.
The reality is, organisations like these wouldn’t be operating without the help of others, and I wondered what else I could come up with to help raise awareness, and hopefully a few more dollars! Every bit helps right?!
I decided on creating a unique one-off design, which could be auctioned on Trade Me starting at $1 no reserve, with all proceeds of the final sale to be donated to the trust.
A pink tourmaline stone was selected for obvious reasons, and the design is completely unique. The ring will be re-sized at no extra cost for the auction winner, with free national shipping thrown in for good measure.
Please place your bids and help to spread the word – your help is much appreciated.
